Cleaning windows can be a lot of work or relatively easy. It depends on your cleaning formula and method. Assemble a bucket & cloths, I like to use white wash cloths for washing & white absorbent hand towels for drying. I use a simple solution of 1/2 gallon of hot tap water 3 teaspoons of distilled vinegar & 1/4 teaspoon of dish soap. (Brands don't matter to me in this case). Wash then thoroughly dry the window 1 pane at a time. Start at the top wash then dry thoroughly. |

Are your stainless appliances always streaky or fingerprinted? I always have the best results from Weiman products. Remember you must start with a clean surface. Use a little dish soap & water to clean stainless before applying polish. The trick in a perfect result lies in drying the surface completely. Apply the stainless steel polish to a soft cloth & cover the entire surface with a thin layer. Use another dry soft cloth to polish completely dry. Remember to always wipe with the grain (usually up & down).

As promised I will be posting general efficiency comments & tips from professional housekeepers. Do you look at your house and honestly don't know where to start? Maria's- A general rule of thumb is top to bottom. What does that mean? Start upstairs or at one end of the house & do all tasks systematically on each level. Cleaning each room separately just adds up to more minutes of cleaning drudgery. Dust every room then remove trash from the entire level etc. |
